Room 217
Welcome to our fourth grade class's website! This is a place where we can communicate, post homework assignments, have discussions between classmates, and upload digital assignments the students have completed throughout the year.
Meet Mrs. Chagnon!
My name is Maureen Chagnon and this will be my fifth year teaching 4th grade at St. Paul Catholic School. I absolutely love it here. The students, families, and staff all make it such an enjoyable place to be every day! I went to twelve years of Catholic schools, starting with Our Lady of Sorrows in Farmington for Kindergarten. I went there until 8th grade, and it was a great foundation to begin my education. For high school, I attended Marian High School in Bloomfield Hills, which was an all girls Catholic school. After that, I went to Michigan State University and received a B.A. in Elementary Education with a concentration in Language Arts. This past summer, I finished with my Masters degree (also from MSU) in Teaching and Curriculum! I absolutely LOVED State - and still do - so don't be surprised if I try to convince your kids to cheer for the Spartans too!
My mission is to provide a safe and caring classroom where students feel comfortable to learn and grow together. I believe that all students have unique strengths, and that these strengths can be utilized in all subject areas in order for them to achieve their highest possible academic success.
My goals are to provide a holistic based curriculum that meets the needs of each unique learner, as well as the standards and requirements of St. Paul and the state of Michigan. I strive for students to feel confident in their abilities and to take responsibility for their actions and their own learning. I will also continue to instill Catholic ideals in the classroom, especially by encouraging students to make good personal choices and help their classmates whenever they are able.
